We wanted to address your concerns with the articles circling around the web that elderberry syrup might not be helpful for the treatment of COVID-19. Each of us has to decide for ourselves how we feel on this matter, but we wanted to share with you our thoughts.
We have spent some time discussing this matter with a few Dr.’s, western medicine & holistic medicine, along with a few naturopaths. We have summarized their thoughts along with a few quoted sentences.
Elderberry is a known antiviral. It has proved to boost the immune system and can prevent the virus from replicating in the body. It is important to take elderberry early on and often if you feel the onset of symptoms. Taken daily for prevention, increasing the dosage if feeling sick. Studies are being conducted to test the response of COVID-19 cells treated with elderberry. The results are very positive, rendering the virus non-infections. They also suggest that future studies using elderberry extract to treat and prevent COVID-19 are warranted. One Naturopath stated, “I did a CE today on elderberry and the herbs don’t have the power to cause the cytokine reaction claimed. Elderberry is still recommended.” Elderberries have been used for their health benefits for hundreds of years. Although there is not enough scientific evidence whether it will prevent the onset of flu or coronavirus, it is believed that it will help boost your immune system and lessen the symptoms of the virus.
Some Dr.’s recommend taking the following vitamins and herbs to help with the onset and symptoms of COVID-19:
Vitamin D
Vitamin C
Elderberry
Garlic Extract
Astragalus
Zinc
Echinacea
Although we do not claim to be Dr.’s or have a scientific degree behind our names, we have had years of success with elderberry syrup, not just from our families and friends, but from our customers as well. Although we believe that elderberry can boost your immune system, decrease inflammation in your body, (along with many, many other positive results), and help you fight off this virus, it is a decision that you have to make as an individual and family. We are happy to share our results and testimonies.
We will continue to have our elderberry syrup available. Although we will no longer be gathering for deliveries, (for the time being), we will be shipping, and happy to give you a shipping quote. We are putting our family in self-quarantine for a while. (A little about our family; our son was born with a compromised immune system, which is how our elderberry syrup adventure began many years ago. We feel we need to wrap him in a bubble at the present, which is why we have decided not to make elderberry syrup deliveries for a while. Thank you for your understanding.)
We hope this finds each and everyone in good spirits, good health, and happy hearts. Sending our love and care to our wonderful customers as we, fight together to overcome what has plagued our nation. We pray for your safety and health! God bless!
